The Two-Pull Method. Locate the dipstick, pull it out, and wipe it clean with a rag or paper towel. Reinsert it fully into the tube, then pull it out again to get an accurate reading of the oil level.
Reading the Level. The oil level should be between the minimum and maximum marks or within the crosshatched area. If it is at or below the minimum, add oil slowly, checking the level frequently to avoid overfilling.
Inspecting Oil Quality. Check the oil's condition. It should be smooth and brown or amber. If it appears milky, gritty, or excessively black, consult a mechanic as this may indicate engine issues.
