Privacy Policy
Seeked is operated by SEEKED LTD, a company incorporated in the Seychelles (“we”, the “operator”). It runs a general-purpose search engine. This policy explains what information is involved when you use it, and what we do — and don’t do — with it. The short version: there are no accounts, nothing you save leaves your browser, and your searches pass through our own server to upstream search providers.
1. Search queries
When you search, your query is sent to Seeked’s own server, which forwards it to upstream search providers to retrieve results, answers, and videos. Those providers process queries under their own policies. Seeked does not intentionally store query bodies on its server.
Your query also appears in the page’s web address, so it can enter your browser history, and any search link you deliberately share includes your query. If a query is sensitive, consider whether to run it or share it.
2. What stays in your browser
The following live only in your browser’s local storage, never in an account on our servers:
- Saved snapshots of searches and sources you bookmark.
- Recent searches shown as suggestions.
- Layout preference (comfortable or compact).
You can erase all of it at any time from Privacy & local data → Clear browser data. Clearing your browser’s site data has the same effect. Anyone with access to your browser or device can read what is stored there.
3. Cookies
Seeked sets no tracking or advertising cookies. If private preview access is ever enabled, it uses a single signed, HTTP-only session cookie solely to remember that this browser unlocked it. The public site sets no cookies at all.
4. Technical processing
Seeked runs on managed hosting infrastructure, which necessarily processes technical data such as IP addresses to host, secure, and measure the service. That includes an invisible browser check that blocks abuse before searches run, and a lightweight page-measurement beacon. No third-party advertising or analytics scripts are included in Seeked itself.
Like most internet services, the underlying network and hosting layers keep routine operational logs (for example for security and debugging). We do not build profiles, sell data, or use your queries for advertising.
5. Publishers, images, and video
Opening a source connects your browser directly to that publisher, and its policies then apply. Publisher images load only after you enable them for the session. Video results link out to the video platform that hosts them; watching there is covered by that platform’s policies.
6. Sharing
We do not sell personal information, run advertising, or share data with data brokers. Information is processed only to operate the service: by our hosting and infrastructure provider for hosting and security, and by upstream search and video providers to retrieve results.
7. Retention
Server-side, we retain as little as possible: query bodies are not intentionally logged, and operational logs age out under the hosting provider’s normal practices. In your browser, saved data persists until you clear it.
8. Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit, provider keys are kept as server-side secrets that never reach your browser, and searches are rate-limited with a shared daily allowance. No internet service is perfectly secure; if you believe you have found a vulnerability, please tell us so it can be fixed.
9. Your choices and rights
Because there are no accounts, most control is in your hands: clear browser data any time, use private browsing to avoid history, decline publisher images, and don’t share links to searches you want to keep private. Where data-protection law gives you rights over information held about you, you may exercise them by contacting us — and since we hold no accounts or profiles, most requests can be satisfied by clearing local data.
10. Children
Seeked is a general-audience service and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them beyond what this policy already describes.
11. Changes
This policy may change as the service evolves; material changes will be reflected in the date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
Legal bases
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process information on these grounds: to provide the service you request when you search; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and measuring a free search engine; and your consent where you give it, such as enabling publisher images for a session. You may withdraw consent at any time by changing the setting or clearing browser data.
Cookies and similar technologies in detail
- Session cookie (signed, HTTP-only): set only if private preview access is enabled, to remember that this browser unlocked it; it expires automatically.
- Browser-check and measurement cookies: the bot check and page-measurement tools described above may set their own technical cookies under their providers’ policies.
- Local storage: your saved finds, recent searches, and layout preference, kept only in this browser.
There are no advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies.
Who operates Seeked
Seeked is operated by SEEKED LTD, a company incorporated in the Seychelles. SEEKED LTD does not publish a contact email address. Because the service holds no accounts or profiles, most privacy questions are answered by this policy itself and by the controls in your own browser.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information held about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because Seeked keeps no accounts or profiles, most of this is directly in your hands through clearing browser data; for anything else, address the operator, SEEKED LTD (Seychelles), with enough detail to identify the request — noting that Seeked does not list a public email address.
International transfers
Seeked runs on global infrastructure, so technical data may be processed in other countries, only as needed to operate and secure the service.
